Who we are / What we do

We are "The New York Harbor Flotilla 014-05-10" of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.  We are in the First District, Southern Region or 14, in the 5th Division,  and are the 10th Flotilla.   We are New Yorkers, and proud of it.

The Coast Guard Auxiliary is the volunteer, civilian branch of the Coast Guard. To learn more about the Auxiliary, take a look at our national site by clicking on the links above.

Flotilla 5-10 serves the boating public of the Lower Manhattan and the NY Harbor, providing boating safety education, performing courtesy vessel safety checks, aiding the US Coast Guard in water safety, search and rescue, and communications.   We have an active training program for our members in order to achieve these goals.

Our flotilla is also dedicated to serving Station New York, the USCG small boat station located in Staten Island where some of our members can be found working alongside active duty USCG personnel.  We also have the most active teaching staff in the region and run more USCG Auiliary operations courses than any flotilla in the division.

The New York Harbor Flotilla meets on the third Tuesday of every month at the USCG MIO offices at 7 pm.   These meetings can be very brief and are generally followed by a class during cooler months when we are not out on the water.

We are always looking for enthusiastic new members, so if you think volunteering with the Auxiliary might be for you, please contact us.
